Regional Historical Museum in Pleven city is among the biggest ones in Bulgaria. Museum visitors could immerse in the intriguing atmosphere of bygone ages and see unique artifacts revealing the history of Pleven region from ancient days till today.

Museum’s fund comprises more than 200 000  valuable museum artifacts both documental and material testimonies to the history, to material and spiritual culture, specimens of the animated and inanimated nature that are indelible from our national cultural, historic and natural heritage.

The profile of the Regional Historical Museum in  Pleven city is general history, with “ Natural Science” department. Museum structure includes the following main expositions: Archeology, Ethnography, Bulgarian History XV to XIX c., New and Contemporary   History, Gena Dimitrova, Nature.

The museum is located in a remarkable for its architecture and size building that is a cultural monument of national importance.  The building was Italian design for barracks and was constructed during 1884 – 1888.
